A beautiful couple that I loved! These were shot shortly only days before their wedding. We wandered all over town to find the spots and it was worth it. I'll post their wedding photos soon!

PLEASE do NOT choose your wedding and special event photographers based upon their prices!

Moments Photography of Miami, FL is very reasonable priced, with a wedding package available for almost any budget. HOWEVER as a professional photographer who has seen numerous other's work I can honestly tell/plead with you to NOT choose your photographer for your wedding day and/or event based on prices, high or low. I have seen scary horrible photography and absolutely beautiful photography work done at weddings for incredibly cheap to incredibly expensive. Albeit more than not the bad fauxtographers are on the cheaper side but they can be priced at any level. Having an expensive camera does not a professional photographer make.

I have spent hours, days, weeks, months, years of my life developing experience, knowledge and skill at what I do. I am not just paid for my time(which involves time prior to a wedding, the wedding day and 20-40 hrs of work post wedding in editing and misc) but also my skill and experience.

Why am I posting this? I have had more than one bride call crying about their wedding day results due to a bad photographer and asking for a bridal shoot post wedding to regain some of the beauty from their day and then a friend posted this article of a couple in the U.K. who paid $1,200 for their photographer and it makes you sick to see the results. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/howaboutthat/9216685/Are-these-the-worst-wedding-pictures-ever.html?frame=2198771 I've seen similar results in the U.S> for anything from $100 to $10,000

I want my clients informed and I want them to get the wedding/event results they want.

How your SHOULD choose a professional photographer:

When choosing your photographer choose someone with an excellent portfolio who at the very least seems knowledgeable with what they're doing. A professional will know the best times of day for lighting, how to work with shadow and light. They will know colors and best angles. They will know their camera. Expect contracts, intelligent questions about your day being asked, a good personality, references available, straight forward answers to questions you ask. Do a session  with them before the wedding, of any kind of session, to get a feel for how they work and the results from that session(one of the best ways to know if you and your chosen photographer are meant to be). If the results are as good as what your little cousin can shoot with a point and shoot camera then they are not professional photographers. Doing these things will save you a LOT of grief and money in the long run. I often recommend bridal and/or engagement photography sessions with my clients prior to a wedding. I do this, not for the money but because my clients then see that they can trust in my skill and that I know what I'm talking about. They feel comfortable after such sessions and know what to expect. They are then far more relaxed and so much easier to work with on their wedding day because they know they are going to love the results. A relaxed, happy couple makes for even better photographs.

Please note: Your photographer doesn't necessarily have to be expensive.

(I don't open business checking accounts; I don't invest in designer clothes to wear for consultations and shoots; I don't invest in high end products for marketing; my main way of marketing is through word of mouth; I rarely indulge myself with assistants; I don't keep a retail studio; and I build my own website and blog. I skimp on the things that would make my life easier so that I don't have to raise my rates or skimp on the things that will truly matter to my clients; like taking extra time when needed in a photography session, wedding, and/or in editing, or that I choose only the highest quality companies for my prints and products, I use online password enabled galleries to hold anywhere from an average of 500-2500 full sized high quality images that my clients can view and purchase from anywhere and I even take care of any taxes that would normally be tacked on to a photography  session or wedding for a photographer. All of this is done so that I can keep my prices low to help my clients who do not have limitless budgets to spend on their weddings)

So this is my first post in...~sigh~ ...too long! This beautiful little girl was a real treasure to do a photo shoot with. Full of personality and fun. I was later told she no longer needed to do chores because after her photo shoot with me she was officially a super model. How awesome is that? There can be no doubt that I love photography and all of the wonderful people I get to meet.

Wow! I have absolutely neglected my poor lonely little blog. And I must confess with wedding season coming up I'm not sure if I will be getting any better but I do mean to try. We shall see! Haha!
